Tim SoarDesigner name: Tim Soar

Origin: London

Design background: Tim Soar set up POST Design in the 1980s with graphics superstar Neville Brody, working on projects in major museums in the UK and mainland Europe. After years moonlighting as a DJ, Tim set up global music consultancy Music Concrete, working with hotel and fashion brands like Ian Schrager Hotels, Adidas, Fendi and many others. In 2006, he launched menswear label SOAR to great acclaim.

Design signatures: “Really well-made menswear that mixes minimalism, sportswear, tailoring and unusual fabrications.”

How would you describe the Tim Soar man? “Anyone who likes my work and is prepared to spend their hard-earned cash on it.”

Trademark piece: "It is not so much a trade mark piece, more a trademark style - a mix for high end tailoring and sportswear."

What does 2012 hold for your brand?
“Continued support from NEWGEN - thank you BFC. And more womenswear.”

What is your favourite decade in fashion?
“Can I compress the last 100 years into one uber-fashion decade?”

Where do you go in London to seek artistic inspiration?
“Running on Hackney Marshes in the mornings.”
